Removing Double Tape From Kit

I bought a used TRD kit and I was wondering how to remove the double sided tape off of it? It is very difficult and goo gone does not do the trick. Is there a way to do this or is it ok to just slap on some new tape over the old tape? If ok will it look good??

3M adhesive and wax remover. it will take off everything but the paint and clearcoat. should be able to find it at any Autozone, Advance Auto, etc. Just re-apply wax when done.
