Power source

Power source

Postby MGLax13 » Tue Jun 29, 2004 9:18 am

Are there any power sources towards the back of the car that are on only when the ignition is in the accy or on position? I'm asking because I plan on hard wiring two deck strobes in my rear window. I already have the front strobe wired into my cigarette lighter. I could run them both to the front of the car and wire them into the other cigarete lighter, but I rather find something a little closer. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

not any that i know of.

you're going to need to get a power source from the front, run a wire under the carpet to the rear.

TRDmole is correct. There are no power sources towards the rear. Also I wouldn't tap any of the other lines already run such as light bulbs.

Run a new line from the fuse box. You can also run it down the side of the car

Another question, when you say run it from the fuse box, what specifically do you suggest I run it from? I have my front light wired into my power outlet (not the cig lighter) in the front, should i now find the wire that goes from the fuse box to the cig lighter and tap into that?
