In-dash DVD Installation Woes...

I am in the middle of my installation and I a have a few small questions, with pics.

Regarding this comment in the original tutorial:
"Fortunately Toyota has prewired another harness that makes it very easy to bypass the factory amp."

1. Where is that additional harness? Where does it appear to come out of, from the hole in the dash after removing the stock stero. I don't think I have it. What should I be looking for, with regard to finding it? I am not sure that my car is equipped with one.

2. What is that other, smaller male plug that looks somewhat similar to the antenna wire for? It was plugged into the back of my 2000 Solara coupe, but I am not sure what it is for. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b398/ ... olinst.jpg

3. Last, I butchered the glove compartment and managed to get access to the jbl amp. Now what I see is two big sets of harnesses coming from it. Which am I interested in? I am normally pretty good with this sort of thing but for some reason this time around I am mildly confused. I have the wiring harness from Crutchfied and the Kenwood in-dassh dvd player arrives today later on. I am just having some issues conceptualizing how this whole thing is going to come together.

Thanks,
AA

Just remembered. In other news I had the security system removed from the car and I have this assembly of wires sitting next to me that may be part of the problem. Maybe this is why I can not locate this supposed second way of providng power to the speakers If anyone could look at the photo in the below link and let me know if it looks like they may have removed this supposed secondary harness of speaker connections.

Also if anyone knows where that cable connection is made, in the wiring scenario whereby the amplifier is bypassed, that info would also be appreciated. If I need to manufacture my own harness I have no idea where the harness plugs into, on the car (not the stereo itself - that part is clear).

Thanks,
AA

i'm pretty sure the two plugs you need are in your picture. you need to unplug those and get an adapter harness at autozone or somewhere. You don't need the second antenna looking thing, it was probably designed to work in conjuction with the amp for a better ground or something along those lines.

did you get this figured out, you have to unplug those because they are plugged into the amp.
