Stereo install

Postby black99 » Wed Dec 07, 2005 3:34 pm

Hey guys, whats goin on. I am soon to install my stereo but I have a ? I have the stock JBL system now but I will be replacing my H/U, and putting in 2 12" JL Audio W3V2's. I planned on running no rear 6x9's and replacing my front 4 with Seas Lotus Performance Range Components. Do you think I should bypass the JBL amp and wire an amp to the Seas? I really dont want to run an extra amp b/c of pricing. I would rather spend the money on tein S Techs and Tokico struts. I plan on getting MB Quart Reference RAA2400 amps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also how much should I plan on spending if I want to get Tein S Tech springs, Tokico struts and some new sway bars?

Yes you definitely need a stronger amp, and yes you definitely want to bypass the factory amp.

The MB Quart amp you mentioned is good. And you can get it pretty cheap at Crutchfield with the Coupon.

There's also the QAA4250 that was just put on Ebay. With the 25 dollar off coupon from ebay+paypal it's 425 shipped.

That amp will send 250 watts rms to the front components, and then 250 watts rms to two subs.

Nice amp for a complete system.

I just bought one myself :D

yea, i have a problem with the amp in question. I am running 900 watts RMS to my 2 12" JL Audio W3's...It sound's freaking awesome. I think if you only plan on running less than 300 watts to the subs, go for 10's because 12's are a complete waste.
