TDS security question, How to turn headlights off

I have the TDS security system on my camry and when the alarm is set or deactivated the headlights turn on or off for a short period of time. It was okay when they did this with the stock halogens bulbs but from everything I've read its bad for HID's to be turned on and off like that does to them? Is there a way of deactivating the headlight switch with the alarm. I like everything about the system except for this. The alarm keyfob looks like a kidney with 3 buttons on it, in case you wanted to know.
