a cross brace will help stop a sub box from ''flexing'' keeping it solid and performing best, and resin yes, very trick looking

A while back, I made my own box out of 5/8" MDF. I made it exactly to the sub airspace requirements, and it was indestructible. I used wood glue and also high-quality screws about every 3 to 4 inches on every side. Then I sealed it with silicone caulking on the inside. Although it had no internal bracing (it was only for 1 12"), it was a badass box, very sturdy, and air-tight. Shouldn't have sold it.

Sounds like a good box, nx. Only thing I'd have changed is the MDF width to 3/4 to 1 inch for a little more strength (especially without bracing).

Only reason I didn't use thicker MDF is because of weight. I thought 5/8" was a good comprimise between strength and weight (not as thick as 3/4, but thicker than 1/2). My '88 Integra (my car at the time) only had 117hp, so I didn't want to bog it down with a really heavy box.
