installing a dvd player under the ashtray

Ive got an indash screen and i have a portable dvd player, it usually sits under me but its kinda tought trying to reach it behind me. I wanna put it under the ashtray. I dont remember but can you remove the part under the ashtray temporarily, without cutting it?

i think you HAVE to cut, i was thinking of flushing mounting a screen in the double din opening and the radio only seems to go there or im gonna have to take out the clock and glass in the radio up there, but ive done that in an accord once, pretty cool

why don't you just put it in the glove box, or even better the center console...???

YES YES YES..my idea EXACTLY. Im not to hot on the idea of cuttin my ride though. The other place i was thinkin about is right on the dash up top..so like when you open it the top of the screen is against the glass and you have it all molded so when its closed it countours with the dash. Tell me what you come up with though..and how much is that screen you got on there now?

the screen was 300, got it new off ebay, its a visonik

Blaze, the DVD won't fit down there its too deep and too small of a hole. Just get a vacum style dvd in the center console facing up.

Some dude took out the AC controls and added a DVD in there, the Controls were placed in the center console...talk about custom!
