Aftermarket spoiler rattle

Aftermarket spoiler rattle

Postby FLASH » Fri Dec 16, 2005 7:43 pm

I know I should line the trunk with Dynamat (etc), but will that help with my spoiler rattling? It is the aftermarket California Dream spoiler, not the stock one. It rattles even when i just close the trunk, so i wonder if dynamat will help the rattling from the bass or not.

Thanks

I lined my entire trunk with dynamat only to find my stock spoiler still rattled....So no lining the trunk doesn't stop the spoiler rattle. What I did was I took off the spoiler cleaned off the dirt and old tape that was on the bottom and put new double sided tape on it then bolted it back on. No rattles at all since then, it should work on your aftermarket spoiler cuz it's the same concept. If you decide to do it let me know how it turns out.

My cali dream used to rattle too when I just closed the trunk. What you ned to do is take the plastic covers off the bolt on points and tighten torque the nuts in a bit under the trunk lid. Mines stopped rattling since I did that a few months back, hasnt been that long so its too early to say if that was a perminant fix.
