i took my door apart for the first time and im looking at my new drivers and im wondering if i put some insulating around it could i drill a hole into the metal or do i have to do it off the brass colored thing the stock ones are on? just wondering what everyone setep is with there aftermarket speakers

It's best to have a MDF wood baffle/adapter made. About 3/4" thick. My friend Marv sells them for like 45 bucks.

Sorry to thread jack.. But does your friend make Baffles for the Solara's Rear 6x9 to fit the 5x7's instead.

If so let me know. The last set of 5x7's i had bolted to the OEM holes. but the new ones i got didn't match up quiet as nice as i want.

I had baffles made for the rear before but they just dont fit right anymore for some reason..

I put speakers in my door and I guess with all the BASS coming through they loosened up on me. Had a rattle until I made adapters(pain in the a55) . Next time I will get a speaker that fits with no retofitting.Defenitely use some kind of adapter plate to make sure everything is secure especially if you like it LOUD.
