7. MB Quart PKC-116 (6.5" coax)$250
8. Edead v.1 300sqft $325

WOW what a system.

As for the alpine deck if you are planning to spend that much money, i'd get a screen. Thats one of the best upgrades i added and i love it.

Check ebay for your prices, you'll find they're a lot cheaper.

I don't think the MB Quart QSD216 $700 (2-way component set) are necessary because of the high cost.

Are you planning to do the install yourself? BTW I've never heard of edead but i would definately reccomend dynamat. 36sq of dynamat xtreme is $99

Right now i have a kenwood excelon mask unit in dash, conneceted to sirius and the music keg. Now on the side i have a pair of mbquarts QSD models and 2 jl 6" subs for the rear deck, i might even add another 2 6" in the kick panel and for the bass, one 10w7(more than enough) and it will be powered by 3 jlaudio amps, right about 1200 watts, which should do perfectly. Of course the other toys like monitors dvd and navigation and still gotta figure out where to put the digital tuner for new fm :D

Edead is like the same as dynomat but much cheaper..i mean if im lookin at double/triple insulating as much of the car as i can im lookin at something like 300 sq ft or so. As for the install..thats the problem I dont trust myself or anyof my boys to do it..i know we can get it done but im not sure to the quality of what I want. I went lookin at the kenwood kvt-911 indashtv/dvd touchscreen reciever..it wasw pimp. They had it listed at 2500 bucks..bit pricey but once you think about it..if i was to add all the components it had seperatly..itd probaly run me past 2500.so i gotta think about it. My heads spinin..i want my stuff NOW..but iw anna make sure i get it right so 6 months down the line i dont decide to junk what i got and upgrade to somethin better..thus wasting alot of money.

Installs

Postby Samboy » Tue Apr 01, 2003 9:27 pm

Does anyone know if it is possible to keep the stock JBL sound system and just add an amp and subs instead of having to buy a new headunit and bypassing the stock amp? If so is it that complicated to install it yourself if you have experience installing other systems? and what is involved?
Bush has done a great job anyone who says otherwise can kiss it.

avoid ed subs till their 2004 line comes out, there's been a lot of noise going on in the car audio world about ed's 2002 and 2003 subs and lead slapping. ed's had a lot of downtime trying to take care of the problem, when their 2004 line comes out, everything is supposed to be taken care of.

also-- please don't tell me those are the price you're planning to pay for each item. e-mail me/im me/pm me and i'll help you out

i think the most important thing...is that you pick what you like. everyone has their own preferences on what they think sounds good....most manufacturers make like 3 or more lines...i think the best idea is to get the middle line..don't get the lowest line of any manufacturers line..its not gonna be good..but otherwise i think its just a matter of preference....strart with the middle line and work up from there...if you can afford to start at the top lines..then go for it...

That is another one of the reasons I love my Solara. I really don't get any rattling at all other than my radar detector because I lost the little pad that you're supposed to put behind it...
