Where's the Sub Woofer on a 2000 Drop Top?

Sounds as if I blew the original equipment subwoofer on my 2000 drop top, it's rattlinglike crazy.

Does anyone know where it is and how I can get to it? I've been told it's under the rear seat and I've been told behind the trunck's rear wall (there is a wave guide outlet in the trunk's rear wall, but that could run for some lenght).

Thanks in advance -

I'm not 100% positive, but I think it's behind the rear seatback, and you have to take the seat out to get to it.

Thanks, I found it the other day.

You're partially right, first you have to remove the rear seat back to get to the mounting bolts. But you still can't remove the little boom box with speaker and waveguide, it won't go through the structure.

To take out the box with speaker installed first remove the rear seat back (4 bolts, 3 trim screws, 2 clips that dpo not work as designed). Then take out the 4 box mounting screws and disconnect the wiring plug.

Then you must open or remove the (inside) trim where the convertible top folds up and pull the box up and out through that area!

What a job. FYI, dealers want a minimum of two hours shop time to do it.
