PA Horn

PA Horn

Postby flipside » Thu Oct 25, 2007 1:24 pm

Ok, this doesn't really have to do specifically with the solara but just audio in general. I'm looking to get a PA horn for my solara. I want to hook it up to the stereo so you can hear the music outside. I want the music to be pretty loud, basically to where you can hear me coming from down the street. My question is, what wattage would the horn need to be? I have seen some 20 watt ones and some 50 watt ones. I'm thinking about going with a 20 watt horn but I have no idea how loud it would be. Can anyone that knows about this stuff help me out?

Did you sell your "ICE CREAM VAN" and miss the sensation of having children RUNNING after you down the street?

I was thinking more along the lines of something like this...
http://cgi.ebay.com/4x6-PA-Horn-Speaker ... dZViewItem

Not so much an air horn.

its gonna sound like crap. if you want to be 'heard' just upgrade your sound system for your listening pleasure and hey if you have your windows open maybe someone can hear you...ie be annoyed by you.

ahaha lol crisp.

If you want people to hear you coming just roll down your windows and crank up the radio... Where would you install the horn anyway? It would have to be outside the car for people to hear it, and that would just look tacky.

Why would you want to install an external speaker so people can hear you coming.

Listening to your radio loudly is one thing, but what you are proposing is ridiculous.

Please do your neighbors a favor and dump this idea.

But for those who love,

A PA would sound crap. Your better off with some marine speakers with horn tweeters.

Ok, first of all, I have heard a PA horn on a car and it doesn't sound bad. Second of all, I plan on using this to play music at parties. I am usually the one who has to bring their car around and play the music so I figure a PA would make it better. I just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with one

LOL I'd like both... A LOUD fxcking horn and the PA to cuss them out (e.g. "there's no middle lane, asshole! You're on an opposing traffic lane!")... Seriously, anybody that thinks that Asians can drive better snap out of whatever dream they are stuck in and come to my neighborhood; I lost count on how many close calls I had. In fact, I'm probably gonna even actually pick up those loud mofos after work.
