Alpine Installs wo Trim Rings

Alpine Installs wo Trim Rings

Postby illstylez » Sun Dec 23, 2007 5:58 pm

I grabbed an alpine for my 99 solara to (CDA-9885). I was looking @ peoples set ups.

I wanted a more custom looking finish but the Alpine trim ring doesn't fit flush with the kit I used (scosche). Anybody got ideas?

My fit looks similar to this

Please reserve posting space for alpine installs, unless you have some good info about how to those of us with alpine HU's. Also be specific of the type of kits used when posting your info. Pictures w/o explanations don't really help our cause, but thanks for posting regardless. =)

On a lighter note, whats strange is you can almost fit it but if your face flips down or is put on the trim ring comes off.

I was just showing you how I fit the trim ring on (using double sided tape). And my face plate pops out, so it doesn't pop the trim ring off.

OK all headunits are mostly made the same.(same size ect) for your question i had an alpine unit and the same dash kit you use. and used double sided tape like the pic shows. Like i stated trying moving the unit down a lil or foward some before you begin to attack other memeber for posting pics with a pic to show you what the trim looks like with using double sided tape. where trying to help you hear. even tho its self explanatory

And for the record Im not explaining myself to You Mr. Ruskimafia, but to anyone who may have misunderstood my other post, it was just a communication error. Lets not take ourselves too seriously here folks.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program. Jakecallun20, what type of tape double sided tape did you use?
