I bought the scosche wiring harness from wally world and plugged that into the two plugs off to the right behind the old unit. no power...... anyone have a wiring diagram? i'll just straight wire it i guess. or if i get too fed up with it just run new wires and leave it alone..........

There is an easy way! Up in the right hand corner of the dash opening there is a harness. Pull it apart. The harness you bought will match that harness. It is the factory amp bypass harness. GL with this.

do i use both connectors? i unplugged those two and plugged them into that and it seems like the small one doesnt go in far enough to snap and the power from those wires wont let the radio turn on?

First make sure that the pins inside the connectors line up right so they will touch and then the connector that you bought should plug right into the one that you unplugged in the upper right to bypass.

Well. In my car it was 2 harnesses connected together, and I unplugged them and used the one that fit to my aftermarket harness to wire to the HU

Only fuse panels in car are under the hood and the one inside the cab.

My 200 with JBL is considered a 'Premium' unit, but it only used one plug in the back of the stock unit. In order to hook up after market I'm having to get an amplified harness that Circuit City carries, part #70-8112. With this harness I wont have to by-pass the JBL amp that's behind the glove box. There are 15 & 20 pin harness kits. I'm thinking the 20 pin kit is for if you have a factory CD changer and the 15 is for single load kit. I'll find out tomorrow. I just ran into my problems this morning when I tried my install and after hitting every parts store in town they all had the same harness but they were the two plug harness that dosn't work on JBL Premium units. Seems the 'Premium units were originally intended for Lexus, and that's why when you ask a goober at Best Buy or Wally World for a harness kit for your 2000 Solara they dont know any better. Hey I own the car and didn't know. I'm right in the middle of my adventure but I'm picking up the amp'ed harness in the morning. I'll let you know if this takes care of everything and the difference in the 15 & 20 pin sockets. I got most of this info from a couple other SG's, today and thanks again to them.

Well Circuit City didn't have it, even after they told me they did and I drove 1/2 hour to get there. Was driving through Nashville though and saw what looked to be a high end system shop so I stopped in there. They sold me one that had 10 pins and 4 AC plugs that he said I'd have to splice. OK, no big deal, I figure I can do that and I did. Didn't work. So I ordered a 15 pin Lexas/Toyota 1992 to 2003 amped so I dont have to bypass the stock JBL amp harness from Discount Car Stereo.com Looks to be what I need, but after paying 27.00 for a 13.00 part to have it overnighted and the mails ran at my shop and at my house I'm still waiting. Don't mind the wait so bad but, damn I need my mp3 playin, frontload USB brand stankin new unit in my car to be up and running. I'll let ya know what happens.
