You can't go wrong with either of those speakers... The Alpines will be a bit bassier, the Bostons will be a bit brighter/crisper.

I've never heard Diamond Audio 6x9s from any series, so I can't really comment on them (although I do like other speakers from Diamond), but I actually dislike the Focal Access 6x9, and the Polyglass 6x9 is overpriced for what it offers compared to other similar range speakers...

Your best bet is to go to your local audio shop and take a listen and figure out which sounds better to you... The Alpines and the Bostons are both commonly available, so it shouldn't be too difficult to track them down.

If you really don't want to do that, or don't have the time, they are both good enough where I'd just say buy whichever is the better deal (which is probably the Alpines, as the SL series tends to run a bit more than the Type R series).

Also... to receive the benefits ANY of the above speakers, I'd highly recommend looking into a mid range amp if you haven't already...

I went with Alpines and am happy, but like the others said both are pretty good.
