i would put the sub on side 11, so the the back wave reflects back and down, then placing the port at least 2-3 inches away from the sub.

ok, i just finished building my box. i havent made the port tube yet, so its sealed right now. the recommended sealed volume is .75. what happens if you go bigger than that? reason is cuz i tested it and it sounds pretty good sealed already and im lazy to go ported. is it bad to have it bigger than recommended port size?

also, i just put the silicone seal on the inside, anyone know how long i need to wait before i can put my sub in? are the fumes bad for my sub?

if you go bigger the sound will get deeper, it's not bad for the sub. i'm not sure how long u should wait, i think 24 hours is good-- it's prolly more than enough. most people that are into sq use bigger boxes than recommended. also, with the bigger box it'll take less power to push the sub to full excursion. if you like the way it sounds, keep it the way it is

is it bad for my sub if i dont wait for the silicone to cure? lets say 17 hours instead of 24? i smelled it and it didnt smell like there were fumes coming out anymore. is it really that bad if i put it in right now?

The longer you wait, the better. You are also supposed to wait 3-5 days before playing the sub at full volume in order to break it in

yes make sure to wait at least a day to let the silicone dry because if you dont the fumes can eat up your subs surround
