My recent system install

Postby chullen1 » Wed Jul 02, 2008 7:11 pm

Just finally got my new system in and wanted to share it with u guys.

I recently put 2500 dollars into this system. I am still using my old sub. A Kicker 12L7 2 OHM. I am running the sub on only 350 watts as that is the true RMS that it can take at the current OHM. I am using a Kicker ZX 750.1 and a single Rockford Fosgate 1 Farad capacitor. I also have Kenwood Speakers all around. They include 1710P Componenet Seperates and 6300X( I believe) 350 watt rear 3 way speakers.

Now for the good stuff....

The new system consists of a Kenwood Excelon 8019 In Dash DVD Unit. I also have a Kenwood iP300v connected to control my ipod. The next component I used was Kenwood g510 navigation unit. I used it to go to NYC and it worked wonderfully. The next component I used was a Kicker ZX 650.4 to put some power to the speakers. I then added a Rockford Fosgate 360.2 Sound Processor to control and tune my sound system. This unit is amazing it, has a program that you can control the unit via bluetooth. Once I had the components I had them all installed by the one and only audio installer who has ever touched my cars, Audio Connection in Columbia. These guys are awesome. I know all the installers by name. I have been going here for at least 8 yrs. Anyway we did a custom setup and flush panel to make it look clean and show the ZX 650.4 amp off. I with the help of them deceided to change all the wire to 1/0 Gauge. By doing so, I also upgraded the inline fuse to a 300A fuse. It is huge. I have the trunk, rear deck and roof completely dynamatted. I also upgraded the battery. It puts out 800 CCA over the stock 660 CCA. This system is awesome, it is more used for SQ than everything but can hit hard too with bassy songs. I have listed some pics below of the setup:
Here are the components minus the wire kit.

I am currently getting ready to upgrade my grounds with 1/0 wire and install a 180 amp alternator. I will also be upgrading the box and sub soon to either a ported box or sealed SQ box and the new sub with be a Kicker 12L7 4 OHM, so I can run the full 750 watts on the sub.

180 amp alternator? isn't that a tad bit of overkill?

Having a lot of amperage is never overkill. Those subs can be quite power-hungry and can take more power than what they're rated for, though they are definitely for SPL, not SQ.

Chullen, very nice install. Although I think if you switched out that cap for a good battery, you'd get better results if you have the space. :sweet:

very nice and clean but did you make it easy to pull out just in case you need access to your spare tire?
