Cap install

Alright, my friend is setting up his audio system in his Ford F150. Were installing my old amp and subs, and I KNOW it needs a capacitor, so we bought one. My question is, do I add the cap inline to the 12V power source. In other words, like take a cable from the battery, to a fuse, to the cap and then onto the amp. Then ground them both separately? Like this:

Thanks. 8)

Cool. Thanks. And one last question I have, How in the hell do I charge this thing? I've read about the inline bulb... and the volt meter and I don't get the bulb theory and I don't know how to use a voltmeter.

just put the voltmeter or multimeter leads on the the pos. and neg. terminals and it'll display the voltage (DC)

To be honest guys if its a small cap just touch it and close your eyes.

Ive touched 15 farad caps by accident and the worst thing that happened was a black mark where it touched. That and i almost shat myself from the spark...
