Replacement of 2000 Convertible Crappy Subwoofer

I have a 2000 SLE Convertible, and my sub has blown...(who'd a thunk it?). Anyway, I am in the process of replacing the entire JBL junk. I have a new hu and front and rear speakers on the way. I have been thinking of what I want to do with the amps and sub. I don't want a lot of bass, so I just want one, and I don't want to take up any trunk space, so I was going to try to mount a sub right behind the rear seat. Any ideas? The sub that I am looking at is suited for free air use, so I don't need a box, but I am racking my brain to come up with a good way to mount this thing. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_2067C104/Kicker-Comp-07C104.html?tp=111 That is the sub that I think that I want to get. Let me know what you guys think.

if you run that sub with out a box your going to be very unhappy with the results believe me ive done it and your amp will get hot due to not enough resistance so my suggestion is a speaker made by pioneer witch requires alot less space which requires a much smaller box here is a link.i had the same concern about space with my system so this is what i found this is what i have in my car and am very happy with it i can post pics if you like http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... /TS-SW841D http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... i would just get something simple and easy
Infinity Basslink or something similar. Comes with an integrated amp, its small and it only does 200w RMS ( not much bass but enough to notice ).

I would love to see some pics if you wouldn't mind. I am prolly going to build a custom box then. perhaps that will fit in one of the back corner's of the trunk.

Okay, here it is. It has been quite a long process but here are the pics of what I got. Pioneer DEH-P6000UB head unit, Kenwoods for front speakers, and kickers for the small 3-1/2" speakers in the rear quarters. Then for the amp, I went with a Pioneer GM-5400T, powering two 10" Pioneer TS-252R's. I made a custom sub box with an angled amp rack in the middle. I didn't think that I did too bad, considering this was my first box. Check out the pics below...

Thanks, I worked really hard on this. It had been a while since I had done any car audio work, but I seemed to remember just fine. I had a great time.
