Hmmm... I just canceled the order. I'd like to discuss this further with people. Just to be clear, my total was only $215 from a different site. I only care about replacing my stock HU with an HU that has iPod connectivity. As long as this isn't worse than the stock one, I'll buy it because it's about $200 less than what you're suggesting.

Dual sucks.

I prefer Alpine Decks. I've had Alpine and Pioneer. Others I've messed with are Sony and Dual.

http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/cda-105 Fits what you want and doesn't break the bank.

http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/cda-9886 Has many more options with audio tuning and audio setups.

Can you please explain why it "sucks". I know it's not a top brand name company, but since you had experience with it, can you be more descriptive than just saying it's bad?

Smart move! im not trying to be rude or pushing but man i dont want you to get ripped off and thats all that dual does! Alpine are the better ipod decks! and like no_escape said the alpines are good and both those decks are nice! notice both are CDA, the 105 is nice and basic, and the 9886 is a lot better your paying for what you get in both of them! i convinced my friend to buy the 9886 and he loves it!!! wont go wrong with either of those for single din, but double dins do get more expensive... sadly... what you can do is i think there is a small storage compartment that matches the trim of the car that sits under the single din stereo to take up all the space and make it look stock if you go that way! :) bst of luck man! PM if you got questions! I'm huge into doing my own installs!, and also am a huge audiophile so i know a lot!

Dual is a walmart brand, they are cheaply made, and use discontinued mish mash parts from other vendors, they use to be a solid company back in the 1970's ish but now they're no good, if you've heard of Vector Research they use to be excellent 30 years ago but now they suck! i would never buy a new product from them, but my 30 year old amp kicks but to this day! they use to be american but were bought out when going under by a chinese company only interested in the name and trying to make cheap products ad sell them or a lot more. same concept with Dual, hopefully that clears it up...

Ok I hear you guys. I just would REALLY prefer the clean look of the double din, over the crammed one of single din.

Any suggestions that are double din decks?

Man i go to Spanish tutoring and all this happens. LOL! so you want a nicely priced unit with ipod connectivity, double din, and if over 200 dollars with a dvd interface. Ebay will be the best answer. The best units for your buck then has to be JVC. I'm a fan of JVC head units because the audio adjustments are easy and simple to use and the quality is excellent. I had 2 JVC double din dvd units in my solara before and they were great. i will see what i can find and post some links for you.

clarion is a solid brand and this is a good price. it also has built in ipod controls

personally i'd get a cd player from crutchfield because they give you all the install gear (all wiring and harnesses) when you spend at least $129, and it'll look a lot cleaner and fit way better than the kits you get at walmart

Wow great minds think alike. I found the same clarion unit from one of my favorite sellers and it is a good unit with built-in ipod controls like dkertis10 said. And considering all you need is to buy is an antenna adaptor this would be your better bet. And he is a good seller with fast shipping.

OK I'm sold.

EDIT: 148 turns to 143 with the coupon code "5DOFF"

I would prefer this because you dont need to run the usb wire to be accessed. Just plug your ipod with your ipod cord right into the front usb port and be done.

In your case i would get the JVC KW-XR610 model because you are not looking for bluetooth just ipod connectivity that is simple and easy. That is easy as it will get.

^^ the KW-XR610 looks nice no doubt. I'm wondering if I can find it as cheap as or cheaper than $143 as I did with the Clarion.

I have no idea but you can give it a try. You may want to try Bing or google.
