I have no idea but you can give it a try. You may want to try Bing or google.

I actually don't seem to be getting any price quotes on any website except the JVC retailer website.

I just briefly skimmed through this, but did anyone mention a h/u thats actually Ipod compatible? I mean the ones that have the same dock connector...not a usb or aux jack. Mine (Sony) has the cable ran into the glove box, plays, changes, navigates through music all with out ever laying a hand on the Ipod

Guys thank you for all the help. I bought the Clarion CX 400 unit for $143, so I'm pretty happy about that for now. It actually has iPod interface, through USB and actually the ability to control the iPod from the unit.

What I really liked about the JVC unit is that it has a USB port in the front so you wouldnt have to run a wire through your car. Unfortunately the release date of the JVC units is March 2010. That probably the reason why none of the discount retailers are carrying it yet.

If I decide to upgrade to a DVD touch screen unit I'm going to go with the Clarion MAX385VD. Or a newer version of the same product.

The NEW JVC units look REALLY nice, so maybe if the price falls, I'll end up switching to those and selling my Clarion CX400 (maybe to one of you guys ;)

If anyone can direct me to thread that could guide me in the process of switching head units, that would be great.

Thanks guys,

Eugene G.

I dont think there is a tutorial. Its very easy. The only thing to do is to buy a toyota antenna adaptor first and a toyota harness adaptor kit to make installation simple. The trim around the radio pops off. The other thing you need to do is to bypass your factory amp which is just unplugging the harness from the amp( that will be the same harness you use for your you toyota harness adaptor to plug your radio into and get you set.

Here is the tutorial to do the bypass proceedure.

pull out the coin holder and pull on the trim. the trim comes off as one piece. then the amp is located on your right hand side follow the wires from the radio to around the glove box were youll find the amp , unhook the wires and use the other tow wires that were connected to the amp

I can't believe our cars just come apart... it's like legos...

Does anyone else find that a bit... odd? (I don't even know what word to use to describe it)
