Gentlemen (Assuming of course you all are gentlemen...LOL)

Many thanks for the welcome and the great ideas. I score them all 100's for creativity and coolness. Thank you!

A little update since my last post...unfortunately, the Black and Tan '07 that I was hoping would be on a truck today headed to Austin is already sold, but the good new is that the dealer was able to locate and procure my actual first choice, a Blizzard Pearl with Ivory (tan) interior SLE. Equipped with Nav and HID, its a sweet ride.

As soon as the beauty arrives later this week its headed to Star Customs for springs, 18" wheels and tires (still haven't decided which, but Prodigy's TRD's are sure nice!), and rear sway bar.

The intake and exhaust will have to wait, but hell, it gives me something to look forward to!

As for the ragtop only mod, I'll just have to look at Down2TheC funny. My wife will drive the car from time to time and I can just see her trying to put the top up at 55. So I'll pass on that one!

I'm going to make nice with the parts manager at the dealership and treat him to a couple rounds of golf. Maybe I can soften him up on the price of the GE kit. ;) If not, my brother is parts manager for a GM dealership and I'll get him to work his sources.

I'm hoping that a custom grill shows up before the end of 07. I love the look on the cars that have it. The upper grill should be the same as the 04-06 shouldn't it? As far as I can tell there was no change there, just changes to the lower....right? I've read a bit about MIkeT's grill...would appreciate any feedback that you guys have about your luck with it.

So for now...my thanks. And I'll post pics as soon she is worthy of posting. I'll post again when the papers are signed...but then again you may actually hear the "Woohoo!" all the way from Austin.

Best to you all!

Agree with the mods suggested earlier, and offer two clarifying comments.

1) Although both intakes are a nice mod for the Gen 2+, IMHO, the CP-e intake is a noticable performance improvement over the Injen, and it's the one I have on order for my '06. But it has been confirmed that Toyota changed something in the '04-'05 fuel map that has to be retuned for this intake. ANY '06 ('07?) owners are welcome to visit CP-e in Maryland and let them test the intake on your car (so they can ship mine). Sebas007 has been trying to drive down there from Canada for MONTHS, but is having trouble hooking up with them. He's talking about next week. (Fingers crossed.) I'm guessing that once remapped, the '06 version would work for the '07.

2) Several have suggested the TRD springs. I haven't done them because I've heard several people say that the TRD springs don't match well with the SLE struts, and you'll get a ride that bounces. Maybe that's no longer true, but I'd research it a little before I made the move to the TRD springs. If you replace the struts too, you're looking at a lot more ching.

Good luck, and welcome back.

Swindler...Thanks for the comments. Wish I could help out with the intake. But I will be watching for the outcome in later posts.

Appreciate the advice on the springs too. How 'bout it? Any other Gen 2 SLE pilots out there have 'dem springs? Would be very interested in hearing your experiences.

Thanks!

I'm holding off on any other suspension stuff until I get my rims/tires figured out. I'm thinking 20's but possibly considering 19s now to get a little more "meat" on the bones. SoCal has pretty shittee roads! :o

I know several folks will say to drop it first then get rims/tires to match, but I'm more about overal performance than looks so...
