hi to all - Great site - i was reading about rotor upgrades and surfed over to SOLARAGUY - very informative - i have a nice '02 SLE, red, no mods, tinted, looking to get the brakes done, Brembo drilled and good pads, and new braided lines - at 33K miles the shimmy when i stop was very noticable - need to fix NOW ( 36K miles) - from what i've been readiing it's a common thing - i think it's a recall on the Camry Sedan per the tech sheets - someone was nice enough to post them - cool, next is tires (and maybe rims) but the stock wheels are nice for now. btw speaking of tires ( i'm sure there are plenty of posts on that subject) any one here now about Falken Tires??- Consumer Reports said better than Michilen - and cheaper..anyway - Hi to the Group - and "SOLARA doth RULE!!!"
Happy ThanxGiving to all...

Howdy and welcome... if I'm not mistaken, there was just recently a discussion regarding brembo brakes in the Gen 1-1.5 Aftermarket Upgrades forums. Might be worth checking out. :D

well - i traded in my 2002 Solara SLE for a 2004 4Runner Limited - and i cried a little.
Driving the 4Runner was a bit different but it has many creature comforts.
then - gas prices got bad and i was driving the "other" car - my wife's 99 Malibu - yeeeuuck!
so i just bought a 2004 Solara SLE - heated seats and all - a little wear and tear but overall - a great buy
close to 60K miles, new rubber all around, Oceanus Pearl, Tan Leather.
JBL - no Nav, runs solid and runs smooooth and silent
$16500 ish - i'd say not bad -what do you all think??
pics to come
MAN - it feels good to be back with y'all...
this is a great forum BTW - and thanx in advance for all the tips and tricks that i have been reading about
first...things to do???
Detail the sucker
Tint the windows...
iPod and Sirius install ( i've been reading a lot about that!!)
Intake ??
lowering - shocks
new H/L
and a portable NAV (so i can use it with the SUV as well)
SO - Hello again from DE...

Welcome :D

If you're looking for an intake, there are 2.
1st is from cp-e, which you can check out at http://www.cp-e.com/2018.html.
2nd one is from Injen, I had my wife get the prototype done when she had her Solara. Check it out here, http://www.injen.com/docs/other/search.asp?stop=1&Year=2004&MakeID=13&ModelID=133&Eng=V6.
Both are good intakes, however the cp-e is much more expensive and the people here who have them love them. You can opt for a tunable MAF system, which Injen doesn't have. Injen is your basic SRI, but there have been a couple of people who made a cold air extension (with some modification of course). No one's tried with the cp-e intake yet.

If you want to lower it, your best bet are TEIN coilovers - hands down. But, I believe there are some other choices, like TRD springs. I'm not sure what people are struts/shocks people are using.

Good luck and happy modding!
