New 2007 SLE Coupe

Just wanting to say hey guys, I traded in my 2004 corolla for a 2007 SLE Coupe in Blue Streak Metallic. So far I'm loving the car and am currently looking into any mods that can be done.

I have one question though on getting options installed after the factory. I'm trying to determine if it is still possible to get HID installed, it came with the standard lights. I found this http://www.intellichoice.com/reports/ve ... ota/Solara and this http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forums/1 ... y-options/ but haven't been able to find a good answer and the dealer had no idea if it was possible or not.

Thanks Guys.

Welcome to SolaraGuy! No necesito 'lo siento' para nada!

Yeah, you could, but the light output isn't exactly the same since Halogen and HID are designed to reflect light differently, so you might not get the same results as a car that actually has HID straight from the factory.

The most common upgrade method is just to install ballasts (voltage regulators) and an adapter for the HID bulbs, McCulloch makes some decent kits some members here are even selling.

Thanks for the welcomes guys. I talked with the service and parts department at the Toyota dealership I got the car from and they said they couldn't change my lights.

I know there is a company that specializes in doing HID conversions in Virginia but I can't seem to find the company website again. The site has been posted on here a couple of times and other places. I was thinking about shooting them an email and seeing what they would have to say on the whole matter. I'm still trying to learn about the proper way and what parts are needed to do it properly. I've read from a lot of places that if you just stick a bulb in there you will get a lot of light scatter and basically blind on coming drivers and could make it illegal.

My current thing now is I'm going to be getting the windows tinted and have a post up in the Gen 2/2.5 forum about it.
