Hi All! Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I just bought a 2000 Solara SLE last week and I love it. A nice change from all the GM cars I've owned in the past. She's quick right now but I can't wait to start modding it. I haven't done much car work in the past other than changing oil or brakes so I'm ready to learn a lot. I have a friend who has a Supra and has been modding it for a couple years, and he is excited to help me out with my new car.

I'm looking forward to reading these forums, learning everything I can from all of you, and contributing anything I can along the way. And last but not least:

Thanks guys!

happy, I definately want to put a new suspension on it. Something more sporty. If that involves lowing it in the process then it's all good but I also want to put a body kit on it, so I want to make sure it isn't to close to the ground. It's my primary car and need to be practicle for city driving.

Thanks! I'm not sure what I want yet since i'm not sure what all options are available to me. I'm thinkin mostly performance. As far as show, I know I want to get a body kit and maybe some larger rims. Possibly 18s if I don't have to worry about rubbing.

I agree! Suspension needs to be a little stiffer. I recommend Tein springs with Tokico struts.

Welcome!
18's will fit fine with the right offset. Preferably +40 to +43. You will get a little rubbing in the rear with 225/40R18 with those offsets if you have a heavy load in the back. Otherwise, you'll be fine.

I'm running those tire size that Flip was saying...however I'm running 18x7.5 with a +45 offset. No rubbing at all in the rear.

Hi guys! Thanks for the tips. I'll definately have to remember them for when the time comes. I think it'll be a few months before I start buying parts.

Just got an wheel alignment today, compliments of the dealership. I noticed in the test drive that the steering wheel would vibrate a little at around 50-60mph. But I just drove it home and it's all taken care of now.

I love this car! More than my girlfriend even. :drinking:
