Whats up!
Just purchased the above vehicle for my wife.
Paid cash after I got rid of the 02 es300 payments.

This car is in premium condition cosmetically.
Mechanically...runs good but I will go through everything with the help of you guys.

I personally drive a 2002 Tacoma and let me tell you the forum people at CustomTacos.com are awesome. With their help I have become a fairly decent shade tree mechanic.

Figuring I didnt change the oil in my truck until 142k (170k now)miles and suddenly taking an interest in something for years I paid someone else to do.
I have shunned mechanic'n my whole life but realized after 43 years I truly like it.

Those guys know their stuff and helped a local idiot like me learn to do many things.
I truly hope you guys are the same.

Let me say first that I love the Solara.

Drives really nice.

Yep...Im a redneck in case you havent figured it out yet.

You thought all rednecks drink beer and work on their cars didnt you?

I cant wait to see some of your rides and maint tips.

Yeeeehaw!

Thanks fellas.

I like riding atv's up there in Tenn and fishing in the Tampa bay area.

Mom lives in Lakeland FL so I got a BR at here house.

45 min to the beach....not bad.

Thanks guys...Im in and want to bring this Solara up to par.

This site was recommended by someone on toyota nation.

I have had a better experience with sites dedicated to a certain vehicle model such as solara and tacoma.

I have been reading posts and soon my reading level will be 9th grade.
Couple more levels and Im might get arrogant. :honda:

Its been a while.
I now live in Orlando and have for nearly 2 years.
When I first moved here my truck was totalled.
I bought my wife a Honda Element.
I took over the Solara.
Im about to turn 200k.
Turned out to be a great car like I thought it was.
Still running strong but got a code (P1155) a week ago.
Looking to fix it myself if I can find enough information.

I got this off ToyotaNation: P1155 A/F Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank #2 Sensor #1)

I think that means the heater circuit in one of your O2 sensors is failing.
They are fitted in your exhaust, one right at the front in the manifold(easy to change) and the second on the rear manifold(awkward to get to) near the sway bar from memory,
what happen's is the sensor has a heater in it to warm it up when you first start the car, so basically the heater in one of the two sensors has burnt out.
You can still drive the car with this(I did for 6months) but it is a cheap easy fixer.
