hey guys..i am new here!

why am i having an extremely difficult time selling my solara? when I was looking for this car it was impossible to find - any posting was a god-send, but now it seems that no one wants to buy mine.

I have a beautiful 1999 pearl coloured, 4-cyl, gorgeous beige interior, excellent condition and only 46K...
am i crazy? its been listed for a whole month & no one even called once! I advertised in auto trader, the major newspaper in the area and still nothing...its going for 11,999$
am i doing something wrong? is there something i dont know about?
please let me in on it...i love my solara but have to sell it because I am moving, otherwise i would keep it 4ever...I live in the north east - connecticut..

Well since your in this forum, you might as well post your car for sale in the "For Sale" section... it also helps to add some pictures if you have them.

Good Luck! :D

well ebay is a lot cheaper than local dealings. its rsiky to buy a car uve never driven or seen, so ppl sell for cheaper. if shes not selling on ebay, she should be able to get more...11-12k sounds about right.

It's probably because it's only a 4-cylinder. You live in a hilly part of the country, so people want at least a V6 to cope with that. Here in Indiana where it is flat as the day is long, a 4-cylinder would sell in a shorter time than in a more mountainous location, but a V6 would sell almost as soon as it hit the papers regardless of terrain.

Also if your car is a manual transmission, that could be another problem. People want automatics for the most part.

Hope this helps.

I just bought my new 2003 Solara I-4 for $18,500.00 in Northern Connecticut. Your price seems kinda steep.

best bet is to sell privately in your local paper. Most people don't even look online for cars so they have no clue how cheap they are going for on ebay
