Hellow and any advice

Hellow and any advice

Hi Everyone

Purchased a used 2005 Solara with 112,000 on it

Great so far

Recently wanted to upgrade lights to HID 8000 for hi / low and running lights

They were great for a week

Then

> driver side stopped working

> driver side running lights stopped working

checked fuses = all ok

Had new transformers replaced / installed + transitters to stop any spike in voltage

Worked great for 1 day

Then drvier low beem > stopped working
Then the passenger driving light stopped working

Checked fuse and they are ok

Next morning > every light worked

Later today > both low beem stopped working

There was no electrical problem with the lights / fuses prior to installing HID kits German made - not keep Chinese .
So do not think it is wiring going to the HIDS ..

When they work > great lights > better than original

Any idea what the problem could be ?

thanks

Most HID issues are caused by the low gauge stock wires and plugs not providing enough current to power the HID Ballasts. To provide them a full 12v you can wire a relay that will provide power directly from the battery. I never had to do this with my car and my DDM tuning HID's, but others here have experienced minor problems. Some issues sort themselves out over a short period of time, and others don't. There are several threads on here with people who are diagnosing the same issues. Try searching with the keywords "Relay" and "HID".
