2008 solara - made it mine

Postby murf » Sat Jun 09, 2012 4:04 pm

Hi - A long time Toyota owner of various Toyota but now own a Solara. Purchased a 2008 and through some help from this forum, decided to go with the 18x8 tsw 5 spoke wheels with the +40 offset. I chose (and am very happy with) the P23545R18 Nitto motivo tires. I then smoked the rear lenses, took apart the headlight assemblies and had them professionally painted the matching metallic grey body color. Polished the outside lenses and had them sprayed with clear to prevent future hazing. After debaging the rear of the car, I also had the rear suspension lowered by 1/2 inch. Upgraded the sound system with 4 new Alpine 6x9's and a 4 channel PPi amp.

Thanks to the forum here for the great ideas and "looks" that inspired me.

I also own 2 Landcruisers (an 85 and a 96) and one Highlander (on Venza 20" wheels). Toyota through and through! :D

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Again, I appreciate the great ideas and information from this forum that helped me along with the Solara. I work at a Toyota dealership in the service department which helps explain the Toyota fever.

Now it seems that Ive run out of "mods" to do to the Solara, I was just thinking if there was a way to rewire the valance "fog lights" to come on independent of the headlights. Any ideas would be appreciated ~

Platelunch: Thanks Man, I love the classic "old school" look of the 85 Cruiser too.

There is an independent fog light mod DIY in the tutorials section.
