man, good times! We didn't lose that football game btw, Mark threw a TD pass to me just before the game broke up, so it was a tie! We made our 6:00 ferry by literally 3 min after some speedy driving....and me tagging behind Mark. My sincerest thanks to all of you, it was an amazing day and I can't wait to see all the pictures

Cruze, how did you ever get your car door opened? Glad to hear you finally did. And how does one get a huge star under their name? I have more posts yet just have little yellow stars. :-?

Slingshot.... you get that big grey star by making a donation to the forum.
Glad to hear everyone had a good time and got home safe.
My face was a little fried up from the sun yesterday also.
Anxiously awaiting to see the pics of yesterday, and it was a pleasure to see familiar faces and meet all the new people.

I was gunna keep that on the "what happens at a meet stays at a meet" list (like the little incident down in Cherry hill on the way to Hooters for all those who were there), but since you brought it up...

I learned AAA is useless inside paid parking lots. Happened right after slingshot and Chrystie left. I drove to the ticket booth but no one was there. I hopped over to the info booth about half a mile down and asked them. Ran into some really annoying drunk old women there who wouldnt shut up when they were in line behind me. The lady at the counter called up her boss and got me two numbers for towing companies. I drive back and realized she didnt give me area code, and I didnt know the local area code. My boy Z did some quick thinking and found the reciept from when we got our parking pass with the address and phone number of Jones Beach on it. Used that area code and called the towing company and he came in like 5 minutes. He wedged the window open just enough to fish a reaching rod inside to flip the lock. Was a little hard cuz of the tint.

BTW glad u guys made the ferry. I was tellin Mark they were gunna be late for sure unless they hottail it outta there.

Great fast thinking Jon. I gotta get me one of those reaching, I mean fishing rods. LOL I'm always very leary of the autolocking doors and try to always keep my door open when the car is running and I am outside because I know that it has to me one of the worst feelings if you lock yourself out of a running car.

Problem with carrying a rod is that if your locked out of your car, your keys AND your fishing rod are in the car. Also, they make a small version of the fishing rod that works only on your car and fits in your wallet - the spare key :).

BTW Chris, I still like your idea about the spare key thing. I wonder why no ones thought of it before...

Maybe its just that no one advertises it so no one knows about it. We'll keep that on the DL.

Ill start up a new thread for ideas for next east coast meet.

Was just trying to be funny about your "fishing a reaching rod" line. I used to carry a spare key in my wallet when I had my Gen1 but the new Gen2 spare keys are way too thick to carry in a wallet anymore. Guess I'll have to try to get a thin spare made myself.
