Saturday Nov. 1st, 2008 - Fall Columbus, Ohio meet

Postby Down2TheC » Wed Oct 29, 2008 5:52 am

Y'all set the time at Martino's and you're welcome to cruise into the La Quinta conference room anytime Saturday for a beer and a "howdy".

^^^^^I think your hotel is the easier gathering point than Martino's being I think there are more people probably coming from the south and west. Martino's is north of Columbus and I think meeting there first would only benefit me and not the whole. If everybody is in agreement that we should meet up with you first then I think you should throw out a time.

If I don't hear from anyone between now and then I'll be at Martino's around 12:30 eating lunch and just waiting on people to show up or call. Like I said before I only know 2 places in and around Columbus and since Solorange is not coming we need somebody to show us where else we can get into trouble.

Since noone else is chiming in... call Martino's the meet, set a time and anyone that wants to hit La Quinta, Grove City before can. We'll roll 20 min. prior to the Martino time.

Let's hear from the folks driving in. Their sched really drives this.

I'm sorry guys, my brakes are out and I've got to either replace or have the rotors turned also. Chances of me attending are very slim at the moment, since I have to take my kids for Halloween.

I'll keep you guys posted. How about every one else from the list? Is everyone on this list still plan on attending?

Unfortunately, I also won't be able to make it now. I didn't plan ahead very well, and I'm right in the middle of my gen. 1.5 conversion. I'd drive my beater and still come, but it currently has 2 flat tires and no rear brakes. Here's an updated list:

1. michaels artic frost - Michael - Gen 2 --- MAY NOT MAKE IT...
2. tacti - Tact - Gen 2
2. CamryOnBronze - Damon - Gen 1
4. JamesT - James - Gen 3 Camry
5. Down2TheC - Mike C - Gen 2
6. Black Bob - Bob - Gen 2

The list keeps shrinking and shrinking...

Just a lil update on my solara, I was able to get to the brakes last night and had the rotors off and will have them resurfaced and hope to put everything back after taking my gurls out for Halloween.

I think I will skip out on this seeing how it's a lil over 3 hour drive for me and the turnout is diminishing. Both of my daughters and my wife are sick as well...next time.

Sorry guys, here's an updated list...

1. tacti - Tact - Gen 2
2. CamryOnBronze - Damon - Gen 1
3. JamesT - James - Gen 3 Camry
4. Down2TheC - Mike C - Gen 2
5. Black Bob - Bob - Gen 2

I just found out that I'm the sole person left on the list now. Well after talking to everybody who was coming and talking to the people who couldn't make it, I think we can now officially say this Meet is not going to happen.

Mike (Down2TheC)--
I was going to limit my drinking to just a six pack and a quarter fifth of whiskey so I could wake up early tomorrow. Now that there is nobody to meet at Martino's I'm gonna celebrate Halloween like it's 1999 and will probably sleep it off till 3pm. Me and my dawgs might still come down and do the Martino's around 8pm and then hit the "unwed mothers" club. Either way, you'll still hear from me. And anyone else is welcome to hang also.

As Brian found out for Elmhurst... it's like herding cats getting SGs together.

More beer for me and the LAN crew. Hope the hangover went quietly Bob.

I sent a PM out to our little group about the likelihood of having one next weekend (Nov. 8th) but from the responses I got it also looks like it ain't happenin'. As for having one anytime before the end of the year--forget about it! Having a meet in four feet of snow in -2°F weather is not only not cool but cold overall. I suggest we have it in the Spring when the winter weather breaks; "cabin fever" has a surefire way of getting people out of the house and into their rides for a roadtrip. We can pretty much lock this thread up.

Just got your PM. I probably will not be able to do anything until next spring. Unfortunately my car has been acting up too.
