Hey what about FRS (aka motorola talkabout and clones) radios? Most people have these now, and they usually have decent range, and usually work out nicely for club drives like this. Miata club uses them a lot, though it's a bit harder to hear with all that wind noise in a convertible!

Alright I took the Accord out and played down in the Volente area, lots of twisties and fun stuff but didn't go all the way through only went about 18 miles down then turned around. Maybe someone wants to google map it and see if this is a good route or not?

From what I looked at on www.googlemaps.com the route looks great. Its nice and twistee. 8)

So after Rudy's we will head down FM Rd 620N and turn left onto Anderson Mill Rd. Shortly after that turn left onto Volente Rd. Im hopeing its not horribly busy so we can have a nice brisk twisty ride. Not stuck behind some grandma in a Buick.

About halfway through Volente Rd is Cypress Creek Park. If yall wana stop and take some pics we can. After the park theres somemore twists and turns. Then before Lime Creek Rd there is:

Volente, Texas - Volente is a village in Travis County, Texas (USA). Located on the north shore of Lake Travis, the village was incorporated in 2003. The population was estimated at 394 in 2007.

Highland Lakes Marina: Volente-Lake Travis - Dockside Parking, Use of picnic area, BBQ grills, beach, swimming area, and washer pit included.

Volente Fire Department Volunteers - A fire dept

Volente Beach Summer Day Camp - Park Area with Waterslides, pool, sandy beach, burger type restaruant, pizza shack and lakeside fine dining, music and dancing Friday and Saturday evenings at the Blu Parrot. www.volentebeach.com

VIP Marina At Volente Beach - A lot more fun if we had a boat. www.volentemarina.com

If we wana stop at any of those places we can if yall wana.

So after Volente Rd we can turn onto Lime Creek Rd. Lots and lots of twistees. Lime Creek Rd will lead us back to Anderson Mill Rd. In between the start of Lime Creek Rd and Anderson Mill Rd is two parks.

Malberger Park & Sandy Creek Park

From the look at the map there are some backroad straight aways that dead end near Sandy Creek Park. Im hopeing they arent residential areas so as maybe we could do a little racing. :D Its up to yall. 8) Has anyone been in this area? Jake?

So like I said Lime Creek Rd will take us back to Anderson Mill Rd. From there its up to yall. We could do some photoshoots of our Laras or we can continue to Mozarts Coffee, its whatever Im game.
