Chroming Stock Rims?

This may sound completely stupid, cheap, and even ricey, but I can't afford rims, but I wanna change the appearance of my rim. I was wondering if it would feasible to maybe....paint them with chrome paint? I also heard some companies can "Dip" the rim in chrome....any thoughts anyone?

Companies usually just swap your rims for a set that are already chrome. This is really common with dealerships and their markup schemes. Just do a search on google and you will find some places that do chrome swaps.

Chrome paint is a bad idea, it never looks like chrome when it's done and it won't stand up to the elements. I'm not too sure if the factory rims are coated or not, but if they are they will have to be blasted (or something to that effect) before they can be plated.

ChiTown-

the chromers came with the car when i bought it. unfortuneatly, the dealer charged $500 for them. Had no option to take them off.
