Scraped exhaust tip...looks terribe!

I was exiting a parking lot and went over the dip between the lot and the road a bit too quickly in order to beat oncoming traffic. My muffler tip scraped the ground and is now flat on the bottom. About 3/4 of the tip is still a circle, with 1/4 practically flat  Is there anything a muffler shop can do to fix the appearance? BTW, I have a month old Apex'i universal muffler (did not know that my I4 was compatible with cat-backs). So should I bother to have it fixed and continue with custom piping or should I just purchase a TRD, Apex'i, or Greddy cat-back system now that I know I can get one (should've found this forum earlier!)? Thanks for the help!

hmm try pounding out the flattened surface of the tip?

that must of been a pretty good smack on the tip b/c they dont really bend that easily.

try going to a muffler shop. they have a machine that normally is used to streched the pipping to connect to the other side of the pipping. perhaps they can do the same with the exhaust tip. or if its that bad, then cut that off and put another tip on.

Yeah...I couldn't believe how flattened it actually was  Thanks for the suggestions...I think I'll see what I can do to fix it before I consider alternate options.

if the tip is beyond repair, have the shop cut it off and put a new one on.

Yeah just for a tip? I rather cut it off and replace it. Cost you much less then going with a cat-back. I mean if you realy want a cat-back then just go for it. 8)

I'm getting the Greddy evo cat-back from ultrarev.com > Thats the lowest price I found. If you find anything lower let them know, and they will match or beat the price.

Solarat--the lowest price I could find on the GReddy Evo, was 485.90 including shipping. The one you found at ultrarev.com after shipping to CA was 478.13, but since you live in NY it must be even less since their rates depend on proximity to the Jersey area...thanks for the site though, I may end up buying one from the same online store if you have a positive experience with them!

That sucks, I've scraped my exhaust tip a couple times at my parent's house. They have one of those curbs that looks like a half pipe...evil thing  You gotta be really careful on those damn dips in the road...Hawaii's roads have gone to $h*t lately cause of the heavy rains we've been having...monster potholes everywhere. Last night I was driving to the mall and I swear there was a pot hole about 9 feet in diamater and 2 feet deep on the road...I $h*t you not!! My BF was like holy crap did the road just swallow us?? lol we had to open our doors to see how deep it was!!!

Well I'm in GA but used to live in NJ. Where did you say you are at? If you are in SoCal you can do local pickup with Adventon.com for just the cost of the system. $437.00 (Not sure about tax) / I am going with ultrarev.com cause their shipping cost is $23.00 less then adventon.com I'll let everyone know the outcome of my instalation including an upclose sound/video clip of how it sounds on the Aftermarket Upgrades forum.

Where did you find yours at? I want to check how much they charge for shipping to GA.

Oops, Solarat I thought you lived in NY for some reason.... Anyways, the one I found online at morepowerracing.com had free shipping but was about $50 extra. So it would still be cheaper to buy from ultrarev.com and have it shipped to GA since ultrarev.com is located on the east coast and their shipping costs depend on location. I would want to hear a sound clip of the GReddy Evo once you have it and to hear whether or not ultrarev.com is a reliable online provider :D

Will do! So far I am very impressed with there willingness to bring down their price to compete with other vendors. That’s an A+ in my book. Of course the ordering & shipping has not happened yet but we shall see.

I just asked that vendor you mentioned 'morepowerracing.com' if they can beat or lower the price that ultrarev.com has ($436.07). If they can match the price then that means free shipping with the lowest price posible yet! I'll post their response. Good looking out bro! :)

Thanks,
Louis
