I've searched around and it sounds like I won't need spacers in the front but will need 5mm spacer in the back is that correct?

You might be able to use 10mm. If you use 15mm, you will have to use wheel stud extenders.

Alright, if I understand correctly, the gen 1 has a offset of +43mm and the gen 2 has an offset of +40mm(?). So does that mean I would need a 3mm spacer to offset the rim from the strut?

I just put the 15mm hubcentric spacers/extended wheel studs in the back for the added safety. I dont want my wheels/tires to rub against anything, and I want as much thread in my lugnut possible.
