Sunpro triple gauge question

Sunpro triple gauge question

Postby dimych » Tue Nov 30, 2004 12:44 am

I've been looking at this set of gauges from Sunpro: oil pressure, volts, water temp., and I have a question. Since Solaras come equiped with a water temp gauge is it possible to use the gauge for oil temp? Will oil be too viscous for the capillary line, or could this work?

No, at least not that I can see how it would work for that. It comes with a water temp sensor. It doesn't have a capillary line like the one for oil pressure. Also our temp gauge is so bull, install the real one and you see that the stock one doesn't actually give you crap for feedback. It might as well have 3 indicators (cold, ok, and hot). Actually, I am not sure what temp the gauge on the dash exactly measures, but it's not just water temp it is more of a general engine temp gauge.

The gauge setup does give you some nifty car feedback though.
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.
