a friend of mine at work and i were talking about this today....i was wondering if the camry of any year with a 3.0 v6 was equipped with the vvt-i head? if so, couldnt that technology be transplanted onto our gen 1 solaras for a lil more horsepower and torque fun :D but if not, any engine we could nab it from as a suitable substitute?

i think 99 up ES300 has vvti v6. but in my opinion, it is too much work and not worth it. you need swap all the heads, harness and ecu and many other parts. might not just use the money to buy a superchager or Nos?

gs and sc are great car to deal with but it just hella expensive to mod.

i was planning on doing a supercharger, i just wanted to see if maybe i could do a few other things, my main idea an all is just the supercharger intake exhaust and a few cosmetics, but maybe ill look into the vvt-i and see what it can offer, yea the gs and sc are very expensive, but if u can find the car itself for cheap, then your goin in the right direction.

it's a thought, but don't waste your time. S/C, pulley and exhaust mods are more than enough for our FWD platform and they are tried and true.
