White Line Sway Bar link nuts coming off?

White Line Sway Bar link nuts coming off?

Postby SC V6 » Sun Apr 03, 2005 11:30 am

last weekend I replaced the nuts that connect the sway bar link to the sway bar... The link is what connects to the strut then to the sway bar... I replaced those nuts last weekend... and now today I go out and drive a bit (pretty harshly) and the nut on the driver side is gone and the line is completly out of the sway bar... I tried to use thread locker and it still came off.. anyone else ahve this problem? any hints on an easy fix?

None other than ordering aftermarket endlinks.

Did you wait till the thread locker dry up before screwing on the nuts?

Also, you have to tighten it quite a bit.

I have the same problem also...

I actually sort of have a solution.

1) Find out the thread width of the nut.
2) Buy 2 thinner nuts to put in place of that 1 nut, preferrable high grade, like 10.8 at least.

But it will be a bitch to put on and get off...

*raises hand*

i got that same problem. I drive my car to the max usually on track days or some extreme driving on mountain passes, and the nut came loose once. After a lot of overtorquing it, it stayed put. still kinda strage since it makes a ping sound every now and then

SC V6.....I know you posted in the same forum that I started on this problem but nobody responded on a solution. I spoke to Whiteline and my sway bar links are on the way from Australia, there gonna custom make the threads longer for me.

here is the link and the product number if you wanna get the same links that I'm getting.....don't forget to translate the the currency difference they supply on there link so you know how much you gonna be paying.

www.whiteline.com.au/store

this is the product number........part # KLD55B

......also under the special instruction section request the kit to suit 220mm long links.

If you need other info on this, shot me a private messege and I'll give you everything else or my info so that they know to do the same for yo if you decide to order there sway bar links.

I forgot to mention that each kit from Whiteline includes 2 sway bar links. The price is also very reasonable along with the shipping because of the currency difference.

Good Luck, and I'll let you know how the links work once I receive and install them.
