Yeah drilling the bottom of the box will help it breath a little better.....maybe for those who have concerns over water getting in the motor...When you open the hood on a drizzly day you wont have to scramble for a bag to put over the cone on the cai...ahhh...those were the days..

I've never had to do that with my CAI and I live here in the San Fernando Valley. I don't even have a fender splash shield. Water splashing on the filter doesn't do anything, you have to submerge it in water.

right, but if you want even more air coming in, you can drill the holes. btw how much is a k & n filter?

i got mine from autozone for $50. dude just get the filter its a much better choice than chopping up ur airbox :(

Using that logic, you might as well remove the bottom half of the air box if you want the 'most' air. K&N filters will range between 40-50.
