FRONT tower strut bar - Any good?

FRONT tower strut bar - Any good?

Postby Sap Z » Tue Jul 05, 2005 12:51 pm

I was wondering if the front strut bars found on ebay were any good? they sell from 20-35 $

i mean...its besically metal..how bad or diff can it be from TRD? :o

and is the handling with the new strut bar going to be a lot better than the stock strut ?

i dont mean to offend the TRD lovers..i'm just tryint to get the facts

The front strut tower braces for sale on ebay are just for show as the ones made by TRD unless you have a supercharger (gives more room that the stock brace does not).

The handling with be just about the same unless you get yourself a rear sway bar (TRD or Whiteline) and front sway bar (Whiteline) if the rear isn't enough for you...........Lowering your car with a nice suspension system will also accomedate a stiffer ryde and better handling.

If your not planning on s/c'ing, then i'd suggest you to avoid spending on the front s/bar and spend on the rear s/bar. if its not whiteline or trd, you will be downgrading from your stock one if you got with the ebay ones....IMO the stock one is pretty nice, a few gen4 camrys actually use solara gen1 bars cus they are stiffer/better than the ebay generic ones!

Since the topic is up, i always wondered what the difference could be between the stock bar and the trd one. My guess was always the same performance but different looks.

They perform exactly the same. One is not stiffer than the other. The TRD bar is FOR S/C CLEARANCE - thats all!!!
