Drop in filters..

Postby Solorange » Wed Aug 03, 2005 3:30 pm

Yeah, I dont see how the sound of your car would change by a filter. The only cars that have a sound difference when you change the filter that ive noticed is honda civics and accords when they add cai without the exhaust. And it sounds like crap too. But I guess when my paper filter goes out i was planning on getting a kn drop filter too. Ill find out someday not soon.

IMO, its only good for better filtering the air. Dirt gets trapped in the oil vs stock, where it would just fly through the paper media. I've had an Injen, and I currently have the TRD drop in, and I did not notice any significant differences.

I have the K&N drop in and can definately tell a difference in sound, maybe a little more power too. Not sure on gas mileage yet, just got it a couple weeks ago. I would love to be able to remove the resonator. Has anyone done that and what did you use for piping???

no filter plus the bottom housing removed makes it mean. throttle response makes me cream. i only do that for occasional weekend cruises though. along with the muffler taken off.
