Help with shaving emblums

Hey everyone,
I haven't done this before... shaving emblums off. How do I get the emblums off the back? A friend told me to take a hairdryer and just use that until the glue falls off then just wipe clean. But then another friend said that's not enough heat to get it off properly.
I'm sure some of you have already done this.... how did you do it? These emblums arn't screwed in so I dont have to fill any holes do I?
