Catbacks not feeding solora needs....

The G Power is an extremely rare system, and has been discontinued for several years now. We do not currently offer any systems for the Solara, so that system may have been a prototype, unless the G Power was developed for a limited run on that vehicle. We do not have any data on that system on hand, but typically, any product developed at our US and Japan HQ are made to produce ample power before releasing to the public.

The G Power was an oval canister design, so the power is not nearly as high as our SM Racing (http://www.tanabe-usa.com/exhausts/medalionracing.asp) For Naturally Aspirated V6 model vehicles, typically we have seen a realistic average of ~4.5whp, 3ft/lbs across the board on most on the oval canister style Tanabe catbacks.

Hi.. I have a rare discontinued Full cat back G medallion Exhaust. Unfortunalty Due to it being discontinued I cannot find any information on it. It was made for a 2000 toyota solara V6.. 1MZ-Fe block... Can you tell me when you guys tested it that what was the Hp and Tq gain from it...A graph of its performacen gain along with the car spec would be nice too. Reason Im asking is Im a huge fan of tanabe..but I dont know anything or performance that this exhaust can do.. So I got a little curious about tanabe's catback so emailed the company. In reply I was confused.. Was the G medallion for the solara only a prototype? As much as Ive tried searching Ive only founded a total of 3 owners with these catbacks. ThEN I read the part where it only gaved 4.5 hp gain... Prety sad for a catback...Does anyone know the gains that the Greddy did? Sad how I cant get much info on a discontinued product.. So what does Greddy power gain give on a stock solara and a solara with the injen intake? I want to know the exact gains it gaved.. Does anyone know? I might want to change to it if its higher. I mean 4.5 hp is pretty low.

ive never actually seen a solara with the same exhaust u have. ive got the greddy evo2 tho. on my performance meter it says i have 163whp but i also have the K&N drop in. ive heard the stock solara has around like 155whp? but yea i like how the greddy sounds and it wasnt too much money

155 to 163... I was told K&N drop in adds 3 told Hp..So your greddy gaved 10..Mine only gaved 4.5 ..... And performance meter? Whats that? Is it acurrate? Im just sad at my 4.5 and want some more power if I can find Greddy to prove itself more powerful... I love the way tanabe sounds though..

Yeah its an awesome exhaust and the way when you stall it if you have a manuel tranny is sooo hot like the cracking sounds of the SRT4 with the G35...But power wise Its weak as I was told... Curious me..

Since there was no baseline taken with the performance meter before the upgrades that measurement cannot be accurate. 4.5 sounds like a realistic estimate for just a cat-back. Keep in mind, our biggest bottleneck is the stock y-pipe. Plus, on a N/A car, gains had from improving in and out "flow" are no where near as significant as with forced induction.

yea i got one of those performance meters by beltronics. picked it up for 100 bucks. i never measured b4 like u said so its jus all a guess. heres some pics
