tinting lens questions

Postby thatdamngood777 » Mon Apr 04, 2005 4:56 pm

Ok, few questions:

Since I can't find a black, chrome or even altezza headlight assembly for a 00 toyota camry solara anywhere, is Niteshade good to use for tinting headlights?

Will it chip easily or darken the lens too much?

Is there any page that sells custom tints you can put on for my solara?

Any other ideas? Thanks!

VHT nightshadz. do a google for it. i used it on my car and it only cost about $8.

I used a whole can on the back lenses and enough left over for eyelids. Use about 6-10 coats of the stuff evenly sprayed, then use a good clear coat and go over it another 5-8 times after the nightshadz is dry.

Its best to take out the lens before spraying. here is a pic of them done..

They have not chipped, cracked, or streaked since i have had them. clear coat saves the stuff.

....Oh and by the way, it may look really dark but when night comes and your lights turn on, it looks just too sweet. I have had cops follow me and not pull me over because it is visible enought and the brake lights shine brightly through. thats all..

Thanks! Sounds like a good idea. Wonder if I'll get stopped by the cops if I use the tinting spray for the headlights or foglights...

there is no argument about quality here. but for the price, id go with the DIY. 10 bucks vs like 80

i think paying milt the 80 is a lot better than DIY. For 70 more, you'd be happier in the long run once you realize the difference in quality

Wow, screw doing it yourself! Although it would be fun to do it myself, getting it done professionally looks sooooooo much more better! $80 is cheaper then I thought to get it done. :D I didn't even get my damn car yet and I have so many plans for it! I want to pay a little more to make it look mint and keep it that way!
