Postby Danny » Sat Aug 09, 2003 12:32 pm

dont smoke your clear corners it looks dumb ... but hey some people like dumb looking things such as, keeping thier mud flaps .. lol but yah if your gunna smoke the clear corners then smoke the head light to. do your corners your self unless your affraid of screwing up. and make sure you use paint than wont scratch or damage from the weather.

i will trade my smoked tailight for a set of the altezza's i dont care what kind they are, i just want to have a set, i will gaurantee my taillights for another year as far as if there is any damage, also they are currently a flat semi polished black if the person who would like to trade would like them to be full high gloss ill do it for you. Lastely youll have two sets of tailight so you can trade them in and out very easily. just incase a copper gives you a hard time. Let me know.

if you are going to smoke your tailights i highly recommend using conversion varnish paint, it is the same kind of paint that they use for boats, to protect it from the elements and living on the coast or where ever can cause a problem in the long run i have had my tails smoked for about a year now and no cracking fading or anything, also if you do not sand the actual lens it self, the paint will NOT stick, you must sand the lens down with at least 600g until it appears foggy, then clean it properly let dry and when you spray make sure you do even strokes becasue if you are tinting when the light shines through you will see were the paint is lighter/heavier that my tip for everyone who wants to tint there tails. To clean the lens if you screw up DO NOT use acetone, what ever your solvent is must be mineral based such as naptha. hope you all can use this tip.

ill trade my finished tails for a set of altezza if anyone intrested :)

I smoked my tails using the vht niteshades spray and some clearcoat over them,no tickets or complaints from cops I have been stopped for my 5% tint but they never mentioned the lights.
