FINALLY LOWERED! BUT NOT WITHOUT A FEW SNAGS HELP!!!

This one is for the Experts.
This past weekend i had my Tokico struts and Eibach spring installed (cost me a pretty penny) but woohoo!
i'm running stock rims (16").

when i got the car back with a visual inspection it seemed that the rear was lower than the front (even with the stock suspension it looked this way) and i know the setup i have should make the front ~ 1/2" lower than the back i even remove my two 10" subs. Is it physically possible that the techs that worked on my car installed the front struts in the rear with the rear springs? (They'd be fools to put the front springs in the rear)

Also the ABS light is on steady as a result of their work and the TRAC OFF light is also blinking at a 2 sec interval, Why is the ABS and the TRAC control sytems buggin out and what can i do to fix it?

HELP!!

I thought eibachs dropped the back lower, not the front....Maybe I'm not recalling correctly.

And if the ABS light is on, they snapped your ABS sensor by not supporting the arm when they took out the suspension. This is a very common problem when people drop our platform, so I'd bring it back and tell them about it.

my trd springs sit lower in the rear than the fronts. Yeah, and there is a sticky on the abs sensor when lowering.

What do you mean when you say there is a sticky on the ABS sensor? do you mean there is a visible warning tag for the techs to see when they change the springs?

The Eibach springs will drop the rear a bit more than the front. I though that was a problem too. There's not much you can do about it. For the ABS, go back to the shop IMMEDIATELY. If they broke a sensor (or more) it's an expensive fix. You might have a little trouble getting them to fix it, but they MUST fix it. I believe 1 sensor is around $200. There is no visual warning about the ABS, it's just something most good shops know about. Good luck! The drop looks good though. :D

If you did a little search here on this site, that is one thing people have learnt (unfortunately the hard way). The thing is, most tech's that do lowering dont know for camry/solara one needs to support the axle from the rear to prevent abs sensor brekage. Anyhow, next time you see the tech that lowered your car, you need to mention that to him...By Sticky i ment it is/was a sticky on the forums under something (either gen 1 aftermarket or tuturtials, or something...).

Go back to the shop! They are responsible for the damage they did to your abs sensor. As for the ride height, the drop will look uneven due to the fact that the front wheel well is bigger than the back. Should have gone with tein springs for an even looking drop (more like a forward rake).

rear/front

I believe the reason everyone thinks that the Eibachs lower the rear more than the front is that there is less clearance in the wheel well on the rear tire. I doubt the springs can even be installed backwards.
On the sensor: They definately broke it (or both of them) and a reputable shop will fix them. (Thank you Marietta Motorsports for taking responsibility for your screwup)

I have teins and I it definatly lowered the car at both ends but I think the back end sits up a little higher in the back than the front. Makes me think I should put eibachs in the rear to lower it more and keep the teins up front.

People warned me about that abs sensor. I made sure i I didnt snag that. You should print off this page and show it as back up when you go to the shop. Them seeing several people on here saying the same thing should be enough to prove to them they made a mistake.

Well so far it sounds like the beginning of a run around. I went back on Tuesday and they told me that the Tech that did the job on my car is on vacation (how convienient) until this saturday so i have to bring my car back this saturday. I definitely told them they may have snapped the sensor in the process of removing my suspension and they told me a whole bunch of BS anyways they said that on saturday they'll put the car on a machine that will tell them what's going on with the sensor. in either case i'll make sure they replace them.

How many ABS/TRAC OFF sensors are there? 1/axle or 2/axle?

You DO NOT need to support the suspension when doing the work. What you have to do is disconnect the ABS sensor from the strut before letting it drop. That will prevent damage to the sensor.

You still need to support the hub, or else it will settle down and the sensor will be stressed. It is essential to support the hub and not let it stretch on the abs line!
