I need new brakes so i've got the followinf quesitons -

1) do drilled rotors perform a whole lot better? Are they worth the money?

2) what kind of brake pads are good - ceramic or metal?

3) do drilled rotors cause the pads to wear out faster?

4) are the Axxis pads n brembo rotors on ebay real and good quality?

1) Not really if you want better braking get SS brake lines. Then they will be worth it.

2) Ceramic if your using drilled or slotted rotors cheap a** metal will warp your new rotors, I got the pics to prove it.

3) The idea behind drilled is the rotors cool faster which sounds like marketing to me I choose the Slotted for a clean brake pad to stop on

4) The rotors that are sold on ebay are real brembos however they are not brembo factory drilled, they are blanks with holes in them.

yes, only the brembo blanks, not the drilled or slotted.

1) Drilled rotors help reduce heat related brake fade, something I suffered ONCE with my OE rotors in 100+ degree weather in Chicago rush hour traffic. Unless you intend to drive and brake hard over and over they do very little for braking. They do reduce the rotational mass of the wheel assembly, so those benefits are there.
2) Depends on application, Ceramic for sure for daily driver applications.
3) Yes, but not as bad as slotted.
4) I prefer to buy from a reputable dealer online (tire rack), but I did buy a set of "regular" Brembo rotors on eBay for my Dad's car last year and they have worked out well.

Just go for some SS brakelines (Goodridge or custom), Brembo blanks, and ceramic pads. The brakelines will be the best part of the investment

Yup... Like Astro says.

Also run Synthetic Brake Fluid. A DOT4 or better (if you do allot of heavy braking or endurance racing) will help reduce fade, cool off braking system (due to the high temp fluid), reduce moisture in the braking system and corrosion.

Stay away from Axxis ceramic/organic compound pads, they dust like h*ll. I had to change mine to straight ceramic, because I was sick of cleaning black dust off my rims after every 30 miles of operation.

I got the zinc-coated, drilled-only Brembo rotors off Ebay and have been happy with them, but really they are more for looks than anything. The zinc coating keeps them from rusting in the non-contact areas, like the e-brake drum area of the rear, which is highly visible if you have wide open rims like I do. I got mine from these guys, but I had to request drilled-only (no extra cost)--slotted wears out pads more quickly, and aren't really necessary for the way I drive, in terms of performance, anyway.

Like others have said, the Goodridge SS brake lines make a world of difference in braking efficiency.

EDIT: Remember to break them in gently, especially if you get the coated rotors. When you first drive the car with these freshly installed, it sounds like you put something on backwards it makes so much noise. But after a few miles of gently applying the brakes at low speed, the coating is removed from the contact area, the nasty scraping sound goes away and it's completely smooth.

I had an axxis pad crack and fall out after less than 6 months of driving.
