Knock Sensor issues

We sure have been talking about knock sensor issues a lot. Since we started adding boost to our S/C cars knock sensors have been a big issue. First of all I think the originally installed knock sensors are kinda weak and replacement ones seem to hold up much better even under the same conditions that blow originals. My guess it that Toyota spec'ed a tougher KS for those that blew the originals to prevent issues.

But the knock sensors are there for a reason and that is to prevent damage to the motor. So thay are a good idea. But if you keep breaking them it seems to me you are pushing your motor too hard. Best findout what's causing the severe knocking and fix it. Or you will be rebuilding. I have a spare 3.1 block for you if you do!

Anyway, I would recommend proper fuel delivery, no more than 6 psi max, or lowered compression with 8 psi max using pump gas. More than that is going to be less reliable. And blow knock sensors.
