so after talking with several of you guys ive decided to try to do swap from auto to 5spd. i know several have done it.... i also know that the parts may be really hard to come by. any help or hookups would really be appreciated. also, opinions or thoughts are welcome too. id really like everyones support in this as its gonna be a pretty big project. any clues on good shops, junkyards with parts, and ANYTHING would be great... thanks guys

That's a big job, I wouldn't want to do it without a lift. That's the best part of having your own shop! Sorry. Find all your parts first. Find a donor car you can part out yourself at a you-pull-it yard. That won't be easy to find but it would work best otherwise get the factory manual. That will really help. It is worth it. Good luck with your project.

Uhh Toyota Nation had some good info on the tranny codes n stuff. I'm sure Phreak, Jeff, Greg might know it. Plus the dude who worked his SLE inte a full manual :o U could find a camry with an manual n scrap it out.

Its not for the light mechanics... its a bit of work.. if you are going to do the swap, do yourself a favor and replace the open diff w\ a limited slip

I spent more than that just upgrading parts... like lighened flywheel, stage 3 clutch, limited slip diff...
