For those who installed the JIC SUS Exhaust

I just recently installed the JIC catback exhaust system, however am having problems with re-installing the heat oxygen sensor. It appears that the sensor is one piece and therefore as you tighten the sensor back into the exhaust pipe it twists the wires making a kink. I read the service manual but it appears that connection point is inside the car, beneath the driver seat and carpet. Therefore, w/out removing all that I cannot untwist the wires.

So, for those who have installed the exhaust please let me know how you accomplished this or is that the only way as described above. Thanks in advanced.

You will have better luck asking this question in our forums (www.teamsc3.com). The O2 sensor should twist out without all the wires kinking. Did you try wd40 or a lubricant to help get it twisted on?

Thanks Flipside, I will try that site as well.

But, no I didn't try to use a lubricant. It didn't appear that there was any rotating parts on the sensor housing that might have been frozen so I didn't think of lubricating the sensor housing. It looked something like a spark plug housing with a wire sticking from the back.

This should be the same for installing any aftermarket catback system. When you remove the O2 sensor it will twist. Note how many full turns it took to get it completely off. When you put the new exhuast one. Retwist the O2 sensor wire that amount of turns that you counted and begin to tighten. If you did it correctly as you tighten the O2 sensor it will untwist and eventally fit perfect. If you forgot to count or removed it allready it should be about 7 full twists.

Thanks Yanks, it worked. It was a little trickier since the exhaust was already up, but eventually I got the right number twists and it went back on nicely. Thanks again.
